I specialize in creating Microsoft Windows applications for engineering and scientific projects, including:

- No fumbling! I have more than 20 years of experience, and I work quickly. I generally work in an "agile" mode, first creating working, though incomplete code, then filling in details, and consulting with you as necessary. I can produce new versions for testing as often as you like.
- No barriers to understanding! I have an extensive background in engineering and science (including an engineering Ph.D from Stanford). I understand my clients' technologies. This often leads to software that is not just adequate, it's great! And since the software is often the most visible part of a project or product, the better it looks and behaves, the better you look.
- No bleeding edge! I use stable, trusted software vendors and languages and I create stable, bug-free, long-lasting solutions. I'm acutely aware that software is often used for many years. At least one program I wrote under MS-DOS in 1992 is still in use!
- No bait and switch! Your project will never get handed off to junior, inexperienced staff.
- No overhead! I work out of my home office. I answer my own phone. I've done this for more than fifteen years and it allows me to keep my rates lower than outfits with offices and support staff.
- Low travel expenses! If you are near North San Diego County I can spend as much time as necessary at your site. If not I will travel as necessary to your location.
- No language problems! English is my native language, dude.
- No time zone problems! Yes, you can pay a lower rate to someone on the other side of the world. No, you can't expect them to be available on your schedule (unless you pay more).
